GERMS-SA/ NICD Annual Surveillance Review
This annual meeting allows local (including provincial site coordinators, Department of Health and NICD staff) and international collaborators to share GERMS-SA information and decide on future projects.

Surveillance Officers’ Meeting
The surveillance officers’ meetings happen twice a year and are an opportunity for the surveillance officers, based in all provinces, to meet and share information on their sites. This time is used to train the surveillance officers on GERMS-SA work and on nested and related studies to improve data collection.

Site visits
Visits to participating laboratories are a wonderful opportunity to meet the laboratory staff members who participate so actively in reporting cases and sending isolates. These also serve to remind laboratories to report cases and send isolates and to show them data coming out of the surveillance programme.
